One of the great joys and highlights of life on our sheep farm is the presence of our wonderful herding dogs, Jet, Meg, and Pip.  These three beautiful Border Collies have each come to us individually, and each is truly unique.  The girls, Jet and Meg, were here first.  Pip joined us more recently in July 2005.  We feel truly blessed to have all three of these beautiful and talented dogs in our lives here at the farm.  Let me tell you a little about them!

bulletJet

Jet is the matron of the family, and was born in 1996.  She was bred by Orin Barnes of Canyon, Texas, and is sired by Robert Miller's Jon, and is out of Orin Barnes' Brittney.  She is an AKC herding champion, and is also a veteran cattle dog.  Jet knows all the ropes and can handle most any situation that comes up without even blinking.  See a photo of Jet as a baby on the Photo Gallery page.

bulletMeg

Meg was born in 2000.  She was bred by Richard Walter of Stratton, Nebraska, and is sired by Michelle Weese' WF On The Move ("Moo"), and is out of John Holman's Gin.  Meg won high in trial as well as reserve high in trial in 2002 at the Border Collie Nationals in St. Louis.  She is a very stylish worker.  When not herding, she spends all her time being affectionate and cuddling up to anyone who will give her a chance.  Visiters to the farm have often fallen in love with Meg's flirtatious ways.  Take a look at Meg herding sheep on the Photo Gallery page.

bulletPip

Pip was born in 1999.  He was bred by Kay Stephens of Navasota, Texas, and is sired by Bruce Fogt's Roy, and is out of Kay Stephens' Bet.  We received Pip in July 2005 after his former owner Andrea Wallace lost her battle with cancer.  Pip is a strong male Border Collie with great stock presence, and is also extremely affectionate and loyal.  He bonded instantly with our family and has been a wonderful addition to the farm.  As might be expected for such a keen male dog, Pip can be a challenge to work, and he came into our lives just at the point when we were ready to step up to this challenge.  See a photo of Pip as a puppy on the Photo Gallery page.

bulletPuppies planned for 2007!

Mark your calendars!  A breeding is planned for Meg and Pip in early March 2007.  Puppies will be expected later in the spring.  We're all very excited, and we will share the good news and photos as soon as the big event happens.
