Bellwether Farm Camp, Retreat, and Education Center offers a model of sustainable living that promotes physical and spiritual wellness, fidelity to the environment, and social justice.

Programming

Nestled into the curves of the Vermillion River, Bellwether Farm is a camp, retreat, and education center dedicated to exposing the wider community to the creation that sustains all of life. As a working farm, its life focuses on four primary activities.

Solar Eclipse "Path of Totality" Festival

Registration for this event has ended

On Monday, April 8, 2024, people within a 124-mile-wide band in the state of Ohio will experience a total solar eclipse. Come for the weekend to experience this once in a lifetime event at Bellwether Farm! Come Saturday to spend the night in our primitive camping sites (with access to bathhouse), cabins (sleeps 10), or in private retreat rooms (single or double occupancy). The festival will include live music with local bands in the Emily Murray amphitheater, time with the animals, volunteer opportunities on the farm, a fishing derby, and all farm-to-table meals. Nerd out during this once in a lifetime solar event!

Registration closes March 25, or until we reach capacity. Eclipse glasses are included in each registration. All tickets are non-refundable.

A note on registration: Each individual needs a ticket-- please add the correct number of "Programming and meals" tickets to your cart. Lodging is by group-- please choose what accommodations you need for your group.

FAQs

Registration Process:

Please select the lodging for your group that makes the most sense:

  • Single Occupancy Retreat Room - One person
  • Double Occupancy Retreat Room - Two people
  • Double Occupancy Retreat Room + Cot - Three People
  • Tent Space - One per tent being brought
  • Cabin - Up to 10 people

Arrival and Departure:

  • Please arrive between 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Dinner is served promptly at 6:00 p.m. If you will arrive after 6:00 p.m., please plan to eat dinner before you arrive—we cannot hold meals for you!
  • You must be out of your accommodations by 11:00 a.m. on Monday so our team can flip rooms for our next guests. We ask that you depart the property by 5:00 p.m.
  • Unfortunately, we cannot provide accommodations for Monday night due to scheduled events the following day.

Packing list:

  • If you are staying in cabins: you will need your own bedding! Pillow, sleeping bag or sheets and blanket for an xl twin bed. Tent campers and cabins will also need their own towels—you will all have access to the bathhouses. (Retreat rooms are supplied with all towels and linens)
  • Fishing poles: If you have a license, you can fish in the Vermillion river on property. All are welcome to fish in our pond, which is catch and release.
  • Layers—all of our doors open to the outside. Temperatures vary widely!
  • Shoes and clothes that can get muddy. We are a working farm!

Do-not-pack list:

  • Pets. Service dogs only!
  • Alcohol
  • We are a smoke free campus, which includes vaping.

Parking:

  • Every accommodation gets 1 parking spot (1 spot per cabin, 1 spot per room, 1 spot per tent.) Limited additional parking is available for $20 a vehicle.
  • No vehicles are permitted past the parking lot—limited handicap parking available.

Sunday

  • 8:00 a.m. - Breakfast
  • 9:00 a.m. - Inclusive worship service in worship barn
  • 10:30 a.m. - Farm volunteer time
  • 12:00 p.m. - Lunch
  • 1:00 p.m. - Fishing derby
  • 4:00 p.m. - Open mic sessions in amphitheater
  • 6:00 p.m. - Dinner
  • 7:00 p.m. - Concert by local band in amphitheater
  • 8:00 p.m. - Campfire and Smores
  • 10:00 p.m. - Quiet hours

Monday

  • 8:00 a.m. - Breakfast
  • 9:00 a.m. - Morning stretches/yoga
  • 10:00 a.m. - Pack up and load up
  • 12:00 p.m. - Lunch
  • 2:00 p.m. - Pass out eclipse glasses
