A Message from Bishop Hollingsworth regarding Bellwether Farm Staff

Dear friends of Bellwether Farm,

I write to inform you that Brandon Gooch has resigned his position as Director of Bellwether Farm, effective at the end of this month. I understand and respect his decision, and acknowledge that, while it is not one that any of us would have hoped for, it is the result of thoughtful discernment, allowing time for his family to resettle before the start of the school year.

Brandon arrived in the Diocese of Ohio in the winter of 2018, when construction of Bellwether was only partially underway, to serve as Camp Director, a role that developed in time to director of the whole facility. His dedication to the church’s vision for this ministry and his persistence in helping bring it to life have been consistent and admirable. While unexpected building delays resulted in a year’s postponement of the opening of summer camp and retreat accommodations, he has overseen the commencement of both, which were on track for a second season until the arrival of the coronavirus. This has been challenging and difficult work, and we are grateful for all that he, Candace, and Ellen have contributed over the last two years.

While visiting Bellwether is limited by the pandemic restrictions, please be encouraged to express your gratitude to the Gooches by phone, mail, and email. I know you will join me in keeping them in your prayers as they begin this transition to a new season of their life.

Gratefully,

The Rt. Rev. Mark Hollingsworth, Jr.
Bishop of Ohio
