Once again, Bellwether Farm is raising turkeys, caring for them and giving them access to all the things they love: sunshine, pasture, and all kinds of bugs! We expect to have a limited number available by Thanksgiving and will be selling them as part of our 2nd annual farm-to-parish initiative, Feeding the Beloved Community. This program, begun in 2020 in response to the pandemic, donates farm fresh produce each week to a number of our parochial hot meal programs. We are excited again to offer Thanksgiving turkeys as part of this initiative. Perhaps, as an expression of your own gratitude and to help Bellwether in its mission to feed the hungry, you might like to partner with us in this effort.
Here’s how it works: A contribution of $100 ($50 of which is tax-deductible) will cover two turkeys – one to enjoy with your friends and family and one to be enjoyed in the hot meal programs we are supporting. There will be 30 partnerships available on a first-come, first-serve basis, and you can sign up here, or by contacting Kyle Mitchell. For those who are not interested in purchasing a turkey but would like to donate towards our Feeding the Beloved Community initiative, please click on the donate ticket and indicate the amount you would like to give.
Pick-up days will be Sunday, November 21st, and Monday, November 22nd. Depending on our processing schedule, we may be able to offer the turkeys fresh. Otherwise, they will be freshly frozen. Please indicate which you would like and we will try our best to accommodate.
