Programming
Nestled into the curves of the Vermillion River, Bellwether Farm is a camp, retreat, and education center dedicated to exposing the wider community to the creation that sustains all of life. As a working farm, its life focuses on four primary activities.

Join other women from across the Diocese for this wonderful retreat opportunity. Prayer, reflection, scripture, art (Soul Collage activity led by Char Nichols, Trinity Cathedral), hiking, and farm and garden opportunities await. Organized originally as a parish retreat by and for the women of Christ Church, Shaker Heights, this retreat is being offered to all women who want to explore what it means to be “Made in the Image of God.”
The retreat will be led be the Rev. Rachel G. Hackenberg, who is an ordained United Church of Christ minister with degrees from Princeton Theological Seminary and Colgate University. Her achievements include the Jagow Prize in Homiletics (2007), Joe R. Engle Preaching Fellowship (2009), and Adese Fellowship (2020).
Currently Rachel serves as Publisher and Managing Editor for The Pilgrim Press. Her professional experience includes pastoral ministry, curriculum development, denominational polity, Christian formation, theological education, and outdoor ministry. Rachel also writes online for RevGalBlogPals, the Stillspeaking Daily Devotional, and occasionally The Huffington Post.
The retreat will be $147 for a single occupancy room and $117 per person for a double occupancy room. All meals and materials included.
